Physical Education

Physical Education Curriculum Intent Statement

Physical Education at St Edmund’s Catholic School will motivate all pupils to enjoy, succeed and excel in a range of sports which will help to build character and embed values such as teamwork, respect, resilience and much more. Pupils will develop competence in a wide range of activities and opportunities, be physically active for sustained periods of time, and engage in competitive sports and activities to enable them to lead healthy active lifestyles. Pupils will develop the skills of underpinning sport and movement so that they can be transferred into a range of sports and exercise later in life. Pupils will also be encouraged to work co-operatively, competitively and independently in order to fulfil their potential and contribute positively to the extra-curricular programme here at St Edmund’s.
